6/2011 COLORADO TRIP

OK sorry I have not been posting anything for awhile.  It has just been too dang hot here to do much riding of any kind.  I have loaded all the photos of our latest trip to COLORADO!  It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect.  We couldn't have asked for a better week to go.  We got to go to the National Motocross at Thundervally in Denver, on Saturday 6/25/11.

The next day we pinned it up the mountain to Sol Vista to do some downhilling.  This was my first time riding downhill and I loved it. We pretty much stayed on the Silky Johnson trail all day.  The next day we went to Winter Park, CO.  We loved this place so much that we rode here 2 days and rented badass downhill bikes on the 2nd day.  We didn't want to leave Winter Park, but it was time to go do some camping and dirt biking.  We headed up the pass and landed in Rand, CO, pulled in to our secluded camp spot and immediately saw a moose grazing in the pasture! This spot was incredible b/c we were far from town way in the mountains without a sole around and had about 60 miles of single track trails straight out of camp all to ourselves.  We rode here for 2 1/2 days and then decided that we better leave and head to Rampart Range before it got crowded with the 4th of July crew.  We were able to get some evening riding in the night we got here and then we got up the next morning and rode about 2 hours before breakfast to work up our appetite.  We came back cooked bacon and eggs and then headed back out for another 2 hours of riding.  Around noon we took the "bar trail" and it lead us straight down the mountain to
Sprucewood bar in Rampart
this bar called Sprucewood.  We had burger's and beer's for lunch and got a little loose before heading back up the mountain to the other side where we were camped.  We headed out that night to go ride a skate-park in Colorado Springs, which turned out to be an awesome place with lots of different stuff to ride.  This was day 7 of downhill, bmx, and dirt biking and our body's were worn out so we headed south back to Austin, TX.  Every year we go to Colorado our vacations get better and better at the rate we are going we might go on vacation one year and never come back to TX.  :)

Here are a few photos from the trip.  Check out the rest of the photos at
